Add name anchors to all the headings by pressing Add names.
If you do not add name anchors, the created Table of Contents will not have any clickable links, but just show the document structure. Sometimes this may be what you want, and in these cases you can simple skip this first step.
Previously inserted name anchors are removed at first, so you can repeat this step without cluttering your document with a lot of unnecessary name anchors. Observe that you have to recreate Table of Contents after running Add names - otherwise your old links will be dead.
To create the actual Table of Contents, press either the button or the first item in the drop-down menu.
If you press the button, a TOC with visible graphical elements is created:
If you select the first item in the drop-down menu, no visible graphical elements are included in the TOC, but there is a leading whitespace created using a graphics file:
The created Table of Contents uses some graphical elements, which must be in the same folder as your document. To copy them there, select the menu item Copy TOC images.
